The Pantry & Corkscrew was set up in 2010 by husband and wife team Dermott Flynn & Janice O’Rourke.

Janice manages the front of house while Dermott manages the kitchen but is also regularly seen out front.

'We are a small operation with a big focus on quality local produce. We source ethically in line with our Slow Food ethos and that of Euro-toques (European Community of Chefs & Cooks) of which we are proud members. Through the years we have built close relationships with local suppliers. We work hard to try and create dishes that showcase the best of what the West of Ireland has to offer.'

We always have a good selection of Meat Free options and cater for dietary requirements.
We offer nightly Specials as well as our Early Bird & A la Carte dishes. Families are always welcome and we offer a Children's Menu.

Here is what the Critics say:

John McKenna (Mckenna's Guides Best in Ireland)
'The Pantry & Corkscrew epitomises perfectly what a West Coast, Wild Atlantic Way Restaurant should be' hauling in all the tasty marvels of their hinterland.

'Dermott Flynn's progress as Chef-Patron has been a sure and steady journey of enquiry, invention, inspiration and discipline'. Janice O'Rourke's service is the final grace note that brings this jewel of Westport into crystalline focus'.

Georgina Campbell's Ireland Guide
'Janice heads up the front of house staff and the welcome is warm and helpful, while Dermot looks after the kitchen end of the operation & the cooking is good, and so is the value.

Lonely Planet
'The heart of Mayo's slow-food movement is found at this narrow little storefront with a turquoise exterior, its walls crammed with pictures. The kitchen has huge talent as the seasonally changing menu shows, with ingredients obtained from local and organic producers. There's a good choice of vegetarian dishes. Book ahead.'

RTE Lifestyle/Travel
'Dinner was enjoyed in the quaint and cosy ‘The Pantry & Corkscrew’ restaurant, located in the centre of the town. The food and ambience provided the perfect start to the Saturday night, while the service was quite simply, stunning'.
