THE PANTRY & CORKSCREW was set up in 2010 by husband and wife team Dermott Flynn & Janice O’Rourke.

Janice manages the front of house while Dermott manages the kitchen but is also regularly seen out front.

'We are a small operation with a big focus on quality local produce. We source ethically in line with our Slow Food ethos and that of Euro-toques (European Community of Chefs & Cooks) of which we are proud members.

Through the years we have built close relationships with local suppliers. We work hard to try and create dishes that showcase the best of what the West of Ireland has to offer.'

We always have a good selection of Meat Free options and cater for dietary requirements. We offer nightly Specials as well as our Early Bird & A la Carte dishes. Families are always welcome and we offer a Children's Menu.

Ba iad an lánúin phósta, Dermott Flynn agus Janice O’Rourke a bhunaigh THE PANTRY & CORKSCREW in 2010.

Déanann Janice an fáilteachas a bhainistiú agus déanann Dermott an chistin a bhainistiú, cé go bhfeictear go minic sa bhialann freisin é.

‘Is gnó beag muid a dhíríonn go mór ar tháirgí áitiúla d’ardchaighdeán. Faighimid ár gcomhábhair go heiticiúil de réir an éitis um Bhia Mall agus Euro-toques (An Comhphobal Eorpach de Chefanna agus Cócairí) - eagraíocht a bhfuil bród orainn bheith mar bhall de.

Oibrímid go dian chun miasanna a chruthú ag baint leasa as togha agus rogha de tháirgí Iarthar na hÉireann.’

Bíonn rogha mhaith de mhiasanna saor ó fheoil i gcónaí againn agus freastalaímid ar riachtanais speisialta bhia. Bíonn roghanna speisialta againn gach tráthnóna, chomh maith le Béilte Luaithe agus Miasanna À la Carte. Bíonn fáilte i gcónaí roimh theaghlaigh agus tá biachlár speisialta do pháistí againn.

Lonely Planet
'The heart of Mayo's slow-food movement is found at this narrow little storefront with a turquoise exterior, its walls crammed with pictures. The kitchen has huge talent as the seasonally changing menu shows, with ingredients obtained from local and organic producers. There's a good choice of vegetarian dishes. Book ahead.'

RTE Lifestyle/Travel
'Dinner was enjoyed in the quaint and cosy ‘The Pantry & Corkscrew’ restaurant, located in the centre of the town. The food and ambience provided the perfect start to the Saturday night, while the service was quite simply, stunning'.
